at the moment...i don't really have much confidence in myself(skillwise). So i'm hoping the experieced guys in here can help me out with future decisions. I feel like i'm useless and i hear it all the time from my brother...I mean i can't cook, can't drive, not a handyman by anymeans, don't know anything about cars nor care. I'm not much of a labour worker when most of the guys in my family are really handy, great with cars....I'm good at speaking, arguing, explaining...Know my history really well, know my politics, culture and am decent with music (not nearly good enough to think of making a living with it) for me...i'm most likely going to be a teacher or something but i don't know what to do because i don't want to live here after i'...... - 2008-11-14

Whats it got in it, that makes is bad for dogs?"Chocolate contains theobromine. A naturally occurring stimulant found in the cocoa bean, theobromine increases urination and affects the central nervous system as well as heart muscle. While amounts vary by type of chocolate, it's the theobromine that is poisonous to dogs." Actually it depends on the dog. My toy poodle ate about 1/2 pound of milk chocolate one day when I was at work, and survived to tell the tale. Though she had been sick a number of times and drunk a lot of water, and when I got home, I made her get up and walk for about 10 minutes, though I did not know that chocolate was poisonous, then. I suspect that she may have inoculated herself against the effects because sev...... - 2008-11-14
Yes... after a long walk with the human we have tea...unsweetened you understand...in doggy bowl with a nice doggy biscuit. She has twinnings or something with a chocolate digestive or something!!!!No. I stop for tea at eleven, one, half two, three, five, seven, and nine. But never four. That's just ridiculous, now isn't it?I don't need to stop - I have it automatically fed into me by intravenous drip.I stop for tea anytime. Anytime of the day or night is good for tea.5pm for me. breakfast at 9am dinner at 12pm tea at 5pm and supper 10pmNo never have tea at 4, maybe a cuppa tea but that would be just a coincidence that it is 4. is this too long an answer?I stop for tea on the hour every hour....and half past...and qua...... - 2008-11-14

Many years ago i remember seeing an excellent crime thriller on TV. I do not know whether it was a film shown on TV, a made for TV movie , or a thriller which is part of a series or just a one off television program. The program aired sometimes in the late sixties. The setting for the program was somewhere in the united states. I would love to identify this program so below I have indicated the basic plot. 1 Man kidnaps 6 criminal types and brings them to unknown location in desert. 2 Man (referred to as leader from here on) explains he is going to train them to rob money from a town. (All banks, large retail stores, and Gas pumps) 3 When robbery is complete 6 men and the leader will get on lig...... - 2008-11-14
I need a solution to let me use VoIP internet telephony over satellite broadband. I've read that it doesn't work, but am uncertain. I'll pay $25 for a solution that lets me use DirecTV (Pegasus) as an alternative to landline telephone, which would be ridiculously expensive at my foothills retreat.i dont how much this would be of help to you. but you can use this link http://www.idirect.net/technology_qos.asp and there is a which paper which you can go thru(PDF File on VoIP over Satellite Using iDirect System).www.iconnect.com - buy a phone from them and open an account so it lets you access the landline gateway from your IP connection. I am looking to start up a video documentary company (taping older people about their life, weddings, etc.) and was curious if there were any resources out there detailing what the general costs would include to start such a compnay. For example, cameras, lights, editing equipment and the like. Also any general information pertaining to video documentary companies would also be appreciated, i.e. competition, common problems, profitability, target markets, etc. I?m not sure if any of this information is out there because most of the companies which do this are small and private, but any info is appreciated.Check out http://www.reelbiography.com Their website lists prices, types of video bios they do, samples, etc. While it won't answ...... - 2008-11-14

I have two inter-related questions. I am a recently retired (3 Jan 06) federal agent who is now drawing a federal pension that is partially tax free (federal and MI). This amounts to approximately $4300.00 per month. I also have a 401K that is now frozen from future contributions with about $110,000 in that. It is invested in Government securities (20%), Bond fund (10%), Midcap fund (50%), and small cap (20%). This will continue to accrue, tax deferred until I am 70.5. The current rate is about 8% in total. I am 60 years old. I have about $25,000.00 in CDs, savings and Emigrant Direct. I can roll the 401K into anything I wish, leave it for now with the same distribution or change that distrbution, or take an annuity for whatever...... - 2008-11-14
Hi there, my friends and I are going to have a little photoshoot but I am not quite familiar with taking pictures during sunset. How should I angle the cars (the front face the sunset, 45 degree to the sun?)? and what is the best angle to take the picture from (down low, mirror height?)? I use a Nikon D70s with the stock 18-70mm with UV Filter and I do have a Cir. Polarizing filter [not familiar how to use it either]. Are there settings I need to change on this camera so the colors will turn out good? Our plan is to meet at a high school during the afternoon, maybe it will be a good time to use the polarizer, but I am not familar with it either. It is a Heliopan ES67 Slim version. How many Environmental Impact Statements (EIS') and Environmental Assessments (EAs) are completed each year under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and what is the breakdown (number) by agency (EPA, Corps of Engineers, etc.) for these documents.Dear Wetland, I've found the numbers of studies conducted each year, but without the breakdown by agency. I hope that another researcher would manage to answer your question fully. If not, would you consider accepting my answer?I actually have an estimate for the number of EAs and EISa each year but would like verification, but the real important part is the number that generally fall out under each of the major agencies...at least those that are led by EPA, Corps, F&WS, BLM, N...... - 2008-11-14

I have identified sychronization, remote PC access (PC Anywhere, GoToMY PC, etc.), backup software & service, thumb drives, and Web-Based services (web e-mail, web-base contact list i.e. Yahoo, MSN, AIM,) as trends that show this growing demand. I am interested in historic and projected user numbers for these 6 categories; 1 - sychronization software, 2 - remote PC access software, 3 - remote web-based back-up services, 4 - Thumbdrives, 5 - Web-based e-mail services, 6 - Instant messaging users....... - 2008-11-14
Hi, I need to know two free services: - 1 for POP3 email - 1 for website with FTP access Both services must be existant and free from atleast 1 year. Both services must allow atleast 10MB of space (attachments/FTP) for any kind of files. The POP3 email must not have strange limitations, like limits in the frequency of POP3 checks. The webspace must not have strange limitations, like limits in the frequency of updates. Both have to be diffusely known services (with a Google Pagerank of atleast 4) ThanksThanks ciscokid05, However, I have no invitation to Gmail and Bravenet doesn't accept any kind of files (ie .ZIP and .DOC). I need to know if there are any environmental disclosures required for the sale of commercial and industrial Real Estate on a national level (federal guidelines, not state by state). For example, The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for most private housing (not commercial), has the The Lead-Based Paint Disclosure Rule (Section 1018 of the Residential Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction Act of 1992) This can be found at: http://www.hud.gov/offices/lead/disclosurerule/index.cfmThere doesn't seem to be any direct federal disclosure requirements, apart from the lead-based paint. However, the Brownfields Act does call for adherence to ASTM standards of due diligence, and these, in turn, involve environmental disclosure. T...... - 2008-11-14

I'm trying to set up a PXE booted FreeBSD 5.3 for the purposes of disaster recovery. I've set up a tftp and nfs environment, and the kernel/mfsroot are both transferred. In fact, if I use a FreeBSD supplied mfsroot, I can actually boot it right up into sysinstall. The only problem is, nothing is displayed from the second the FreeBSD kernel takes over until sysinstall appears. This is pretty much useless to me, since I don't really want sysinstall; I want to roll my own mfsroot that gives me a prompt so I can work on fixing the machine in the event that it dies. I'm not going to be able to do an awful lot until I can see something going on without having to use sysinstall. So my question is this: where are the kernel/in...... - 2008-11-14
why should high interest rates keep shoppers out of the stores and/or conversely why should high consumer spending reduce the need for the Bank of England to raise interest rates?Hi! Thanks for the question. Our first two articles will mainly reference the Federal Reserve of the USA which is the counterpart of the Bank of England in Britain. We will take a look on how it uses interest rates to control consumer spending and the economy which we will see later from the Bank of England website is the same action they take in their monetary policy. But first here is the basic idea. Higher interest rates will mean that the cost of borrowing money will be high so it discourages people to make loans and then spend them so they troop less to t...... - 2008-11-14

Where did CS Lewis say "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive." ?Hello again, Paul! The quote comes from Lewis's essay "The Humanitarian Theory of Punishment," which was first published in the law journal Res Judicatae in 1953. "Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. ~ C. Need to know in where the phrase "No longer fear the heat of the sun" appears. The line you've quoted is a variant of the first line of this song from the play "Cymbeline," by William Shakespeare: Fear no more the heat o' the sun, Nor the furious winter's rages; Thou thy worldly task hast done, Home art gone, and ta'en thy wages; Golden lads and girls all must, As chimney-sweepers come to dust. Fear no more the frown o' the great; Thou art past the tyrant's stroke: Care no more to clothe and eat; To thee the reed is as the oak: The sceptre, learning, physic, must All follow this, and come to dust. I'm looking for the names of websites that provide short articles on American history (about the length of your average newspaper story, not a magazine story). The articles can't be specialized, and would, I think, deal with recent investigations into historical matters. Further, the website must be continually coming up with new articles, the way New Scientist and Discover are continually coming up with new science stories. I am aware of "American History" magazine, which is nearly perfect, except that the articles are just a little too long (3 pages, on average)....... - 2008-11-14
Hi folks, apologies in advance for the lengthy post:confused: I have been asked to photograph the main event for friends too - seems like there's a bit of that going around. There's a few books and places online to go for tips etc but I was hoping I could get some constructive advice for my particular case. The couple have seen a few photos I've taken and were impressed - but then it's easy to impress people who don't understand how shallow DOF makes such a difference between dSLR photos and 'flat' P&S photos. At any rate, I'm confident & happy enough to 'have a go' and they understand I'm no professional -but I'd like to do my very best so they at least get a handful or two of images thay can enjoy. My fiancé informed me the other day, in no uncertain terms, that she does not want me to have my camera with me on our wedding day. I can understand where she is coming from...but I think there may be some opportunities to get some great shots that will have a lot of personal meaning in the future. I was thinking of getting a wide angle lens and doing the old 'self portrait at arms length'. I used to do that quite a bit with my old p&s camera but it would be so much better with a wide angle lens. Anyway...have any of you toted a camera around on your wedding day?I'm not really sure that I need to answer this :lmao: Hobbes and I are getting married in October and I can't imagine that we won't carry two cameras. Any suggestions on some sites that are not extremely expensive? Thanks!I use morephotos.com. It's $40 a month and allows for direct ordering and you can password protect the events if you want to.I use photoreflect.com. There is no charge for hosting and you can password protect and then they have the option to purchase. I do not remember the percentage of their charge, but it's not too bad, I have never felt that I was being gouged. One of my VERY good friends got married on saturday and I took the camera along. They did have a primary photographer that they paid for so once again I was playing second fiddle and trying to stay out of her way. Of course many people found it a little bothersome when she started simply following me around half way through the night and taking the same shots I did after I set them up or waited for them. Thats the third wedding in a row now! So maybe either I am finally getting the hang of this enough to do paid weddings or these photogs are just getting lazy! Anyway they told me that they didn't have me do it because they wanted me to have a good time and not be working. I simply told them that shooting pics was FUN! And not work.
